Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is a shooter set in the Star Wars universe and the third title in the successful Battlefront series. It was developed exclusively for the PlayStation Portable and released in 2007.
In the game, the player takes on the role of a front soldier in one of the four central factions of the Star Wars films and takes part in various battles. Renegade Squadron again includes an extensive campaign, this time told from the perspective of the rebels.
Gameplay
General
Battlefront: Renegade Squadron builds on the principle of previous titles. It is a shooter set in the Star Wars universe, in which the armies of the four major factions of the Star Wars films compete against each other. The game takes place on different maps that represent locations from the Star Wars universe. Several game modes are available for the individual maps. The space battles known from the predecessor Battlefront II were also taken over from the new title.
Armament
In Renegade Squadron , the player can choose from a rich arsenal of weapons. Available are e.g. B. Pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades and rocket launchers. The player chooses the weapons indirectly when selecting his troops. Each troop has its own individual armament, which it cannot change in battle. Most troops carry three to four weapons, one primary, one secondary and two supporting. Primary weapons are a unit's more powerful weapons that are mostly used for attack. An example of such is the marksman's sniper rifle. A troop's secondary weapon is more for defensive purposes and is designed for close range combat. The soldiers only carry a very limited number of supporting weapons, such as grenades. They can be used to set up defensive positions or to destroy large areas.
