The Starbuck Peak is a 1,435 m high mountain in Georgia . It rises up between the head ends of the Risting and Harmer glaciers .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it as part of its surveying campaign, which lasted from 1951 to 1957 . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after the American historian Alexander Starbuck (1841-1925), who dealt with the history of whaling .
