The Starlight Gunners Football Club is a football club from Banjul , the capital of the West African State Gambia . They played successfully in the top league in Gambian football in the GFA League First Division in the 1980s and last won the championship in the 1980/81 season.
The Starlight Gunners first appeared in the 1967/68 season.
At the end of the 2003/04 season they were relegated to the GFA League Second Division , from which they were relegated again at the end of the 2006 season.
