Starringer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Starringers, also Staringer or Starkinger, are a documented Bavarian family with aristocratic, bourgeois and rural namesake since 1010 .

origin

They come from the Starginum / Stargina already mentioned in 818, today Bau- / Hofstarring (1229 Starring ) in the district of Erding . The origin of the name is not clear. It is not known whether the place Starring gave the name to the family, or whether a Germanic clan board member Star (in the case of the Star clan) gave the place its name. Starringers appear, after Gotehart named in 1010, from 1130 as Ministeriale , Ritter and Nobilis in the service of the Wittelsbachers .

A first family tree of the Starringers was created in 1598 by the Bavarian historian Wiguleus Hund (1514–1588). According to the will of Rueprecht Staringer von Kalling, the noble male branch died out around 1575. The peasant and bourgeois line still exists today. In 1707/10 some of the von Alzey family (Duchy of Palatinate-Neuburg ) emigrated to America. In the USA there is an immigrant starring club called “Starnes” .
