Hofstarring is a place in the municipality of Steinkirchen in Bavaria .

The history of the place goes back to the year 818: On January 29th, 818 the matron Imma gave her property "ad Starginum" to the Freising Bishop Hitto . During the reign of the same bishop, a donation from the clergyman Engilhart included a “Salomon ad Starginum” and in 844 under Bishop Erchanperth the noble Cundpato and his Vogt Paldacher property “ad Starkinun”. From 926 to 937, Count Camanolf witnessed an exchange of land and the like. a. also in Starring.

In the time of Bishop Heinrich 1135 to 1137 a "Starchant" is mentioned, who belongs to the Starringer family. Sigfried Staro, who appeared from 1130 to 1135, probably belonged to this ministerial family. In 1150 Prun "de Steringen" is a witness in a document from St. Castulus ( Moosburg ).

1172 there is also a Dietreich de Staringen, who is recorded as a witness in the Schäftlarner traditions. Papo Miles de Staringen and Siegfried de Sterin are also mentioned there later. In 1220 Gisela von Staeringen hands over the property in Taubenthal to the Ebersberg monastery .

Siegfried and Govtelinda de Sterin make a donation in “Sterinen”. In 1231 a marquee “nobilis Staringer” is recorded in Scheyern . The residence of the Staringer family is likely to have been on one of the three terraces of the spur.

In 1345 Hildebrand the Staringer gave a legacy to the St. Veit monastery for one anniversary. In 1407 Wilhelm and Dorothea Pucher sold Erhard a Hube in Tapfheim to Staringer . On May 4, 1407, Erhard der Starkinger confesses that Duke Heinrich released him from prison. He promises not to leave the country.

In the 15th century the Staringers move to Kalling. In Staeringen, the Wittelsbachers owned property according to the oldest land register . There was also a henchman's office in Starring.

In 1483 Hofstarring becomes Hofmark . However, in 1597 there is no longer a seat, because the description reads: “Hofstarking, a Hofmarch, who belongs to Achazien von Seyboldtstorf heirs. Has khain Süz. A Tafern, a Schmidt, a Pad. ”In 1737 it was“ common continuous Hofmark ”. Other court lords were u. a. the Lunghammer and Fraunhofer from 1705 to 1835.

On October 1, 1971, Hofstarring was incorporated into the Steinkirchen community.
