State Twenty20 2008-09

The 2008-09 State Twenty20 Competition was the third season of the New Zealand Twenty20 Championship later known as the HRV Cup . The traditional first-class teams representing New Zealand districts took part in the tournament. The winners were the Otago Volts , who were declared the winners due to their better position in the table after a final against Canterbury Wizards that was canceled due to rain .

The six teams played eight games each in a group. The group first and second qualified for the final.
