Statue menhir of Pailhemalbiau

The statue menhir of Pailhemalbiau , discovered in 1981, stands in a small shed that protects him from the weather, behind a farmhouse in the hamlet of Pailhemalbiau in the commune of Murat-sur-Vèbre in the Tarn department in France . Like the nearby statue menhir at Moulin-de-Louat , it is a reddish stone.

The statue menhir is about 2.0 meters high and its facial features are clearly visible. He has two rings for his eyes but no nose or tattoos on his face. Arms and hands are clear, as is his “object” on the shoulder strap. The belt has a nice buckle and the toes are clearly shown on the feet. He is carrying a weapon called Báculo on the information sheet . The belt and shoulder strap continue on the back and he has a long braid or hat.
