The Hohenfelden reservoir (also: Hohenfelden reservoir ) is located about 1.5 km east of the community of Hohenfelden, southeast of Erfurt and southwest of Weimar in Thuringia ( Weimarer Land district ). The bathing lake was created from 1966 to 1975 for local recreation and has an area of 41.66 hectares. It has a depth of up to 7 m and is 1150 m long and 370 m wide. Its capacity is 1.08 million m³.
Leisure facilities
An extensive amusement park has developed around the reservoir , which includes the following facilities and facilities:

- Beach promenade, with beaches (including a nudist beach)

- Nature trail
- Enzenburg : From the protected ground monument, walls and ditches can still be seen as the remains of a small late medieval manor castle ( motte ). You can find them on a clearly recognizable sign on the left of the road to Kranichfeld, diagonally across from the parking lot at the reservoir.
