The Wasserfallboden reservoir is located south of the municipality of Kaprun in the Hohe Tauern in the state of Salzburg in Austria .

The reservoir is an annual reservoir with a surface of 1.5 km² and a usable volume of max. 81.2 million m³. The Limberg dam , which has a height of 120 m and a crown length of 357 m, forms the end of the valley . The vaulted dam was built between 1938 and 1951.

The Wasserfallboden reservoir acts as the lower basin of the two upper levels Limberg I and Limberg II of the Kaprun power plant . The target is at an altitude of 1672  m above sea level. A.
