Tracey Ullman
Tracey Ullman (born December 30, 1959 in Slough , England ) is a British actress , comedian and singer . She has also been a US citizen since 2006 . She is considered the most commercially successful British comedian.
Life
Ullman was in 1959 in the English county of Berkshire born. She first appeared on British television programs and produced songs for the London music label Stiff Records . From 1983 to 1985, seven of her titles reached the UK charts . From 1987 to 1990 she appeared on the Tracey Ullman Show , for which she received the Emmy Award in 1989 and 1990 and was nominated several times for the same prize in different categories. The animated series The Simpsons comes from this show . In 1988 she won the Golden Globe Award , and in 1989 and 1990 she was nominated for the same award. It also won the American Comedy Award in 1988, 1990 and 1991.
Ullman played in the film A Demancipated Woman (1985) alongside Meryl Streep , in the comedy I love you to death (1990) she played one of the leading roles alongside Kevin Kline . In the television series Tracey Ullman: A Class Act (1992), she was next to Michael Palin to see. From 1996 to 1999 she starred in the comedy television show Tracey Takes On ... , for which she was nominated for a 1997 Golden Globe . She won the Golden Satellite Award in 1998, the Screen Actors Guild Award in 1999, the American Comedy Award in 1998, 1999 and 2000 and the CableACE Award in 1996 in two categories. She was also seen as the main character's therapist in the first three seasons of the series Ally McBeal . She was nominated for a Golden Globe and an American Comedy Award for her role in the movie Narrow Gauntlet , in which she played alongside Woody Allen . She was nominated for an Emmy for her leading role in the television movie Tracey Ullman in the Trailer Tales (2003).
After Ullmann said he had not received any offers for a long time, she has been successfully appearing again with her own television show since January 2016, for the first time in over two decades on British television. The title of the BBC show Tracey Ullman's Show is based heavily on the title of her previous TV show on Fox , but is a slightly differently conceived sketch show in which she parodies well-known women politicians. Ullman received special praise in the German media for her parody of Chancellor Angela Merkel .
Ullman was married to British producer Allan McKeown from 1983 until his death on December 24, 2013 and has two children. Since December 2006, she has had US citizenship in addition to British citizenship.
