The Staszic lake ( pl. Staw Staszica ) in Poland is a cirque lake in the valley behind the Mönch ( pl. Dolina za Mnichem ), a hanging valley above the Fischbach valley ( pl. Dolina Rybiego Potoku ) in the Polish High Tatras . The glacial lake is located in the Bukowina Tatrzańska municipality . A hiking trail runs by the lake from the valley behind the Mönch to the Wrota Chałubińskiego mountain pass .

The lake is named after the Polish scientist Stanisław Staszica , who explored the Tatra Mountains in the early 19th century.
