The Sainte-Anne Catholic Chapel in Baby , a French commune in the Seine-et-Marne department of the Île-de-France region , was originally built in the 11th century.

history

The chapel south of the village belonged to Baby's castle, which was demolished in the 19th century. The church was expanded to the west between 1640 and 1659. The arched portal from Haustein also dates from this time . The oldest part of the chapel is the apse . A round mausoleum was added to this in the 18th century to bury the landlord Alexis Jean Durand de Lagny. Its epitaph has been classified as a monument historique .

In the 19th century the roof turret with bell was built on the west gable and a small sacristy was added to the apse.

Furnishing

The furnishings that have been restored in recent years should be emphasized: sculptures of saints from the 17th and 18th centuries and crosses from the 18th century.
