Ste-Marie in Avrainville

The Sainte-Marie Catholic Church in Avrainville , a French parish in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was built in the 11th century. The Church of St. Mary on the Place de l'Église has been included in the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1983 .

Major changes were made to the structure in the 17th and 18th centuries, and the sacristy was added around 1680 . The south portal with a serrated archivolt resting on pillars has been preserved from the 12th century .

The two-story tower on a rectangular plan also dates from the 12th century, it is of a gabled roof covered and supported by pillars. The sound arcades are located in an ogival opening.

Most of the furnishings date from the 19th century, such as B. the pulpit made of wood.
