The Stefan Piedmont Glacier is a small foreland glacier on the Loubet coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located between Cape Rey and Holdfast Point in the northwest of the Pernik Peninsula .
Aerial photographs of the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition from 1956 to 1957 were used for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the Austrian physicist Josef Stefan (1835-1893), who in 1889 had developed a dedicated theory on heat flow and dynamics in ice formation .
