Stefan Baldus

Stefan Baldus (born August 16, 1949 in Betzdorf ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2003 to 2009 he was State Secretary in Thuringian ministries.

Life

From 1964 to 1969 Baldus attended the vocational school of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and completed the preparatory service for the middle / upper administrative service during this time. In 1969 Baldus went to the German Armed Forces , where he started his career as an officer until he switched to politics in 1992.

Baldus is a Roman Catholic and widowed , but has since been remarried .

Baldus has been a member of the CDU since 1988. Until 2010 he was chairman of the CDU district association Wartburgkreis .

In 1992 he became the district administrator of Salzungen district Bad chosen. After its dissolution in 1994, he took over the position of managing director of the development company Südwest-Thüringen mbH.

In 2003 Baldus was appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Conservation and the Environment . In 2004 he moved to the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior in the same position , before returning to the Ministry of the Environment in 2007. After the state elections in Thuringia in 2009 , Baldus was replaced by Roland Richwien as State Secretary.

From 2010 to 2015, Stefan Baldus was managing director of the Thuringian farmers' association .
