Stefan Binder (born October 12, 1978 in Waldkirchen ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .

Career

In 1996, Binder moved from his home club TSV Waldkirchen to the youth department of TSV 1860 Munich . A year later he moved to SV Hutthurm , which he left in 1999 for Wacker Burghausen . After this station he stayed for four seasons in a row at SSV Jahn Regensburg , where he was used in defense and midfield. With this club he also played in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2003/04 season . Since Stefan Binder was one of the few players who stayed after relegation from the second Bundesliga, he was one of the most popular players in the squad among the Regensburg fans. When Jahn was relegated to the Bayern League in the 2005/06 season, however , Binder moved to the second division Sportfreunde Siegen . In the 2007/08 season he returned to the Danube for SSV Jahn Regensburg after only one year. In the first year the qualification for the newly introduced 3rd division succeeded . He played five more years in the defense of the Upper Palatinate as a regular player and announced the end of his career in 2012. In his last year Binder reached third place in the league with Regensburg , which qualified them for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The SSV Jahn sat down - u. a. by a Binder swallow that scored a penalty - in two games against Karlsruher SC and for the second time, Binder made it to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club.

On June 30, 2012, Binder moved to the Lower Bavarian district division FC Tittling as a player-coach. In 2015 he finally ended his active career. After a two-year commitment as a coach at the national division TSV Waldkirchen, Binder turned his back on the football business in 2017. He now works full-time as a carpenter for a caravan manufacturer.
