Stefan Dürr (* 1964 in Eberbach ) is a German-Russian farmer and agricultural machinery dealer. As managing director of the German holding company Ekosem-Agrar , he is one of the largest agricultural entrepreneurs in Russia .

Life

Born and raised in Eberbach am Neckar, graduated from Dürr an agricultural vocational training on the grandfatherly 14  hectares large arable farm with restaurant . This was followed by a diploma -Studies of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Bayreuth . As part of a German-Russian internship exchange in the agricultural sector in 1989, he was one of the first two interns after the end of the Cold War . With the experience from the internship, he organized trips for representatives of the Russian agricultural administration to eastern German agricultural companies on behalf of the German embassy in Moscow and paid for trips by the German Ministry of Agriculture. His studies were suspended during this time. The grandfather's inheritance was shared among the family members in 1988 and the farm and inn were sold. In 1998 he started trading in agricultural machinery. In 2003 he bought the first farm in Russia. As of September 1, 2019, his Russian company Ekoniva with 13,000 employees was cultivating 589,850 hectares of land in the Voronezh Oblast . The livestock consists of 170,712 cattle, including 82,765 dairy cows, which produce 2,133 tons of milk per day . Ekoniva is also the market leader in the agricultural machinery trade. Dürr advised the government of the Russian Federation on the privatization of agricultural land and advocated preventing disorderly privatization with oligarchs such as in industry. Dürr is married and has four children.
