Stefan Graf (born September 6, 1956 in Bonn ) is a German diplomat who was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Gabon from 2013 to 2016 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1976, Graf first completed training in the senior foreign service, which he completed in 1979. He then worked from 1980 to 1983 at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City and from 1983 to 1986 at the Embassy in Libya . After his return, he was employed in the central department of the Foreign Office in Bonn from 1986 to 1992 and, between 1992 and 1994, he was trained in the higher service at the Academy of the Foreign Office. After graduation, he worked from 1994 to 1998 as a consultant in the European department and the cultural department of the Foreign Office and then worked in the central department between 1998 and 2000 with the organizational structure for the Foreign Office in Berlin in the course of the relocation of the headquarters from Bonn to Berlin .

Graf was then Consul for Politics and Culture at the Consulate General in New York City from 2000 to 2004 and Deputy Head of the Consulate General in Chennai between 2004 and 2006 , before he was Consul General in Bangalore from 2006 to 2009 . After his return, he was Deputy Head of Unit AP 04 (South Asia) at the Foreign Office between 2009 and 2013 and as such was also responsible for the India country team. In July 2013 he succeeded Christian Rumplecker as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Gabon and was also as such as Ambassador to Sao Tome and Principe accredited and Permanent Representative to the Central African Economic Community (CEEAC). He held this post until 2016 and was then replaced by Burkhard Ducoffre .

Stefan Graf is married to Kornelia Graf and has one son.
