Christian Rumplecker

Christian Rumplecker (born July 13, 1950 in Graupa ) is a German diplomat . From 2013 to 2015 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Sierra Leone with his office in Freetown .

Life and diplomacy

Christian Rumplecker passed his Abitur in 1969. He then studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden from 1969 to 1973 . From 1973 to 1983 he worked in the machine tool industry.

Rumplecker joined the diplomatic service of the GDR in 1984 . From 1984 to 1986 he attended the diplomatic school in Potsdam . From 1986 to 1990 Rumplecker was the GDR's deputy ambassador in Antananarivo ( Madagascar ).

After reunification, he worked in the private sector from 1990 to 1992 before moving to the Foreign Service of the Federal Republic of Germany. After working in the cultural department of the Foreign Office in Bonn from 1992 to 1995, Rumplecker worked at the German embassy in Nairobi ( Kenya ) from 1995 to 1998 . From 1998 to 2001 he was permanent representative of the ambassador in Phnom Penh ( Cambodia ).

From 2001 to 2004 he worked in the economic department of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin before going to the embassy in Ottawa ( Canada ) from 2004 to 2007 . From 2007 to 2010 Rumplecker was Deputy Consul General in Guangzhou ( People's Republic of China ).

From 2010 to 2013. He was German ambassador to ambassador to Gabon and as such at the same time as ambassador in Sao Tome and Principe accredited and Permanent Representative to the Central African Economic Community (CEEAC). Most recently, he was ambassador to Sierra Leone between 2013 and his retirement in 2015 .

Christian Rumplecker is married and has two children.
