Stefan Iten (born February 5, 1985 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player . He became European champion with the U-17 national team in 2002 . He has now ended his professional career and plays in the Swiss amateur league for FC Uster .

Career

Stefan Iten began his career in the junior teams of the Grasshopper Club Zurich . In 2002 he was part of the winning team at the U-17 European Football Championship with players like Tranquillo Barnetta , Philippe Senderos and Reto Ziegler . This U-17 was the first Swiss national team to win an international football title.

In the summer of 2005 he moved from the Grasshoppers U-21 team to the National League B club FC Wohlen , where he was a regular for three seasons and made 89 appearances in the championship. He then moved for one season to FC Vaduz in the highest Swiss league, where he played for one season, but could not fully assert himself. After a season in the “Ländle”, he moved to FC Winterthur , where he later became captain.

At the end of the 2014/15 season, he ended his professional career there after six years and from now on plays at FC Uster in the 2nd interregional league.
