Stefan König (born May 2, 1959 in Munich ) is a German author .

Life

Stefan König is internationally recognized as a mountain expert.

1987/88 he was editor, then editor-in-chief of the magazine "Bergwelt". In the early 1990s he began to devote himself to non-fiction projects. In 1992, he was awarded the German Alpine Club's literary prize for “great moments of alpinism” - 15 stories that are based on facts but then digress into the fictional.

In 1995, König co-founded the St. Anton Film Festival, which he directed until 2012.

Since 2006 he has mainly devoted himself to fiction in the form of detective novels on Alpine topics.

He lives in Iffeldorf (Upper Bavaria).
