Stefan Komoss

Stefan Komoss (born April 27, 1964 in Karlsruhe ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2011 to 2016 he was the district mayor of the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and district councilor for schools, sports, finance and human resources and from March 2009 to April 2018 he was district chairman of the SPD for the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district.

Education, work and family

After Stefan Komoss had graduated from high school in Ettlingen in 1983 , he studied Political Science, Public Law, Middle and Modern History in Mannheim . In 1989 he completed his studies with a Magister artium .

He then worked as a research assistant for a member of the European Parliament . From 1990 onwards he worked as a lecturer and trainer at the private educational institution Knowledge Gesellschaft für Wissenstransfer mbH , whose management and management he took over from 1991 to 2006.

After he had to give up his position as district mayor of Marzahn-Hellersdorf in 2016, he founded the management consultancy Concept .

Komoss has lived in Berlin-Kaulsdorf since 1996 , is married and has two children. He is evangelical.

Political career

Political party

Stefan Komoss has been a member of the SPD since 1989 . In 1990 he was elected chairman of department 6 "Kaulsdorf- und Mahlsdorf-Nord" and has been a member of the district executive committee of the SPD Marzahn-Hellersdorf since 2000. In March 2009 he was elected as district chairman of the SPD Marzahn-Hellersdorf. He was not re-elected in April 2018.

Public offices

Komoß had since 2007 District Councilor for Education, Culture and Sports of the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and was in July 2008, deputy district mayor and district councilor for school, sports and finance, before the Borough Assembly (BVV) Marzahn-Hellersdorf in October 2011 to the district mayor of Marzahn-Hellersdorf and District Councilor for School, Sport, Finance and Personnel was elected. After being elected to BVV on September 18, 2016, he lost his position to Dagmar Pohle ( Die Linke ).

From 2011-2016 Komoss was the spokesman for the SPD-governed districts in the Council of Mayors .
