Stefan Marini (born June 23, 1965 ) is a former Swiss football player and current coach .

Career as a player

Between 1982 and 1993 he played for the first team of FC Luzern for eleven years, where he won the Swiss championship in the 1988/89 season and the Swiss Cup in the 1992 cup final against FC Lugano .

At the end of his career, he played for FC Aarau for another year from the summer of 1993.

National team

Marini made 19 international matches for the Swiss national team between 1986 and 1991 .

Career as a coach

After retiring as a soccer player, he coached FC Thun, SC Cham, SC Buochs, SC Kriens and FC Sursee from summer 1993. He has been in possession of the Uefa Pro diploma since 2007.

National team

Since July 2013 he has been working as a coach for the junior national teams at the Swiss Football Association. Marini has been training the Swiss U-17 national team since July 1, 2017.
