Stefan Palm (politician)

Stefan Palm (born April 12, 1979 in Merzig ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From June 2012 until his departure after the state elections in 2017, he was a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Palm attended the Losheim elementary school and the Peter-Wust-Gymnasium in Merzig . After he left school with the Abitur, he did his community service as a paramedic at the Wadern and Losheim rescue stations . He studied agriculture at the Bingen University of Applied Sciences and completed his studies with a degree in engineering .

Palm has been a member of the CDU since 1999. Since 2004 he has been a member of the board of the CDU local association Losheim am See. In 2006 he became deputy chairman and in 2008 chairman of the Losheim community association. Since 2011 he has also been deputy chairman of the Merzig-Wadern district association .

Palm has been a member of the Losheim municipal council since 2004 and has been deputy parliamentary group chairman since 2009. He has also been the mayor of the Losheim district since 2009. After working as a research assistant for the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament from 2008, he moved into the state parliament as a member of parliament in June 2012. He is the successor for the retired Helma Kuhn-Theis .
