Stefan Raetz

Stefan Raetz (* 24. February 1959 in Flensburg ) is a municipal official ( CDU ) and full-time mayor of the city Rheinbach in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

After high school and service as a regular soldier in the German Navy studied Raetz from 1981 at the University of Bonn law . He completed his studies on March 5, 1988 with the first state examination in law. He completed his legal traineeship in the legal preparatory service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He then studied at the German University for Administrative Sciences in Speyer . This was followed by the second state examination on October 15, 1991. Until June 30, 1994, Raetz was head of the legal office as well as the main and personnel office in Luckenwalde . There he was also the mayor's first deputy . On July 1, 1994, Stefan Raetz was elected First Alderman in Rheinbach and was responsible for the planning, school, culture, sports and social services.

In the 1999 local elections , he was elected mayor with 55.6% of the votes cast. He took office on October 1, 1999. In 2004 it received 63.4% of the vote, in 2009 even 71.2% and in 2014 a total of 64.09%.

On March 9, 2000, Raetz became a member of the Legal, Constitutional, Personnel and Organizational Committee of the Association of Cities and Municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia , of which he was deputy chairman from 2005 to 2010. He has been a member of the executive committee there since April 6, 2005. On June 2, 2010, he was elected chairman of the committee for urban development, construction and regional planning of the North Rhine-Westphalia Association of Towns and Municipalities.

Raetz is married and has a son.
