Stefan Schmidt (organist)
Stefan Schmidt (born April 16, 1966 in Düsseldorf ) is a German organist and university professor.
Schmidt studied church music from 1986 to 1991 at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf with Paul Heuser and Heinz Odenthal . After passing his A-exam , he became a cantor at St. Peter (Düsseldorf) and founded the Ars Cantandi chamber choir , which he directed until 2005. He supplemented his training with Daniel Roth in Saarbrücken with the concert exam . Since 1994 he has been teaching organ and improvisation at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. In 2006 he was appointed honorary professor there . Since 2005 he has been the cathedral organist at the St. Kilian Cathedral Church in Würzburg .
