Stefan Wehmeier (born July 31, 1970 in Hameln ) is a German chess player .

Life

Stefan Wehmeier is a research assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Paderborn . He did his doctorate in 2005 with Karl-Heinz Indlekofer on the topic of arithmetic semigroups .

In 1997 he was awarded the title of International Master by the World Chess Federation FIDE . In December 2006 he won the 3rd Chess Turk Cup at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum in Paderborn on the third attempt . His club is the LSV / Turm Lippstadt , with which he commutes between the Oberliga (3rd division) and the NRW class (4th division). Its Elo rating is 2408 (as of April 2020), its highest to date was 2459 from May 2010 to April 2011.
