Stefan Ziffzer

Stefan Ziffzer (* 1953 in Wiesbaden ) is a German renovator and sports official.

Career

As a trained banker and holds a doctorate in economics, he was born in Wiesbaden and worked in various management positions at DG Bank from 1979 to 1989 . From 1990 to 2003 Stefan Ziffzer worked for the Kirch Group , interrupted by a brief interlude at the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group . At the end of 1999, according to taz , he negotiated the secret contract between the church group and FC Bayern Munich for 40 million marks annually, which was not presented in the licensing process and, according to taz, should have secured Bayern Munich's approval for the central marketing of the television rights of the Bundesliga.

The football department of TSV 1860 Munich , which was severely endangered by insolvency and spun off into a GmbH & Co. KGaA, hired him as chairman of the management board in April 2006 and, under the leadership of Ziffzer, began negotiations with Bayern Munich on the sale of the shares in Allianz Arena GmbH for 11 million euros. Thus the DFL license for the coming season could be secured. Under his leadership it was possible to bring the association on a path of financial consolidation. Due to the resignation of Karl Auer from the presidency in March 2006 and Alfred Lehner's announcement that he would only fill this office for one year and the resulting election campaign, Ziffzer was the only constant in the administrative area and consequently represented this in relation to the media. In May 2007, he faked his resignation, but this was accepted by the newly elected President of TSV 1860 Munich Albrecht von Linde . On May 11, 2008, at a press conference after Linde's last home game of the season, Ziffzer criticized Linde with drastic words: “The fish stinks from the head, and with us the head is the president. [...] This president is a shame. ”In the presence of sponsors, von Linde then announced the termination without notice, which was then declared in writing two days later. This was preceded by a simmering dispute about the economic course of the football department and the entry of investors to the urgently needed increase in equity since the beginning of the presidential term. At a Supervisory Board meeting on April 22, 2008, it was then unanimously decided to give the management more room for maneuver for capital procurement measures. The issue of participation certificates and a possible commitment of an investor in the amount of 5 million euros were discussed . The end of the dispute between Ziffzer and the President were reports on the replacement of the managing director Stefan Reuter, which were expressly not denied by the Presidium . A lawsuit brought by Ziffzer for reinstatement and continued payment of his salary ended in September 2009 with a settlement.
