Stefanie Bürkle (* 1966 in Heilbronn ) is a German artist and professor of fine arts at the Institute for Architecture at the Technical University of Berlin .

Life

Bürkle studied scenography in Paris and fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts . She worked as a set designer in Paris at the Théâtre des Amandiers or MC93 Bobigny , in Berlin at the Berliner Ensemble or hebbel-am-ufer. They also completed a master's degree scenography / Spatial Design at the Zurich University of the Arts and was then at Wolfgang Greisenegger at the Institute for media, film and theater in Vienna in 2011 on the theme "city as a stage / architecture as scenography" doctorate .

Since 2009 she has been Professor of Fine Arts at the TU Berlin.

Themes such as “city”, “artificial worlds”, “facade-wallpaper-space-architecture” are examined by her using different media such as painting, photography and in interdisciplinary projects. She is particularly interested in the phenomena of built urban space: facade, backdrop, architecture and spatial migration. The most recent projects were “Placemaking” and “Migrating Spaces”. The interdisciplinary "Place Making" project focuses on the Fall of the Wall of migrant sight as cooperation between Berlin institutions such as the Hebbel Theater on the banks, the Ernst Schering Foundation , the Capital Cultural Fund and the National Museum of Contemporary Art ( Berlin Gallery ) could in 2009 to 20-Year anniversary in Berlin to be shown. Her current art and research project “Migration of Spaces” examines the cultural-architectural influence of migration on the basis of the typology of built homes of remigrants in their countries of origin. The exhibition was shown in 2016 in the House of World Cultures in Salt in Istanbul and in 2017 in Apollonia Strasbourg .
