Capital Culture Fund

Individual projects and events that are significant for the German capital Berlin , have at least a national appeal or are particularly innovative are funded from the Hauptstadtkulturfonds .

Funding can be granted for architecture , design , exhibitions , visual arts , film series , literature , music , musical theater , performance , dance , theater , for cross- disciplinary , interdisciplinary projects and projects that serve cultural exchange . The projects must be implemented or presented in Berlin.

history

In 1999, the State of Berlin and the federal government set up a “Capital Culture Fund” as part of the “Capital Culture Contract”, from which significant individual projects and events for the Federal Capital Berlin are funded. Since January 2008, funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media have made available up to € 15 million a year. This was stipulated in the capital city financing contract 2007 of November 30, 2007. The office of the Hauptstadtkulturfonds is located at the Senate Administration responsible for culture .
