Stefanie Göttsche

Stefanie Göttsche (born April 15, 1972 in Buchholz ) is a former German basketball player .

career

The 1.88 meter tall Göttsche played basketball and volleyball at Staples High School in the US state of Connecticut until 1990 and achieved outstanding performance in both sports. From 1990 to 1994 she was a member of the basketball team at Providence College, Rhode Island , while she was studying marketing. In a total of 120 missions for the "Friars" she achieved an average of 9.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per encounter and was with 1104 points on the 15th place of the eternal basket shooter list of the university team when she left them in 1994.

In 1994 Göttsche moved to Germany, played for one year with Wemex Berlin, followed by three years with Osnabrücker SC (1995 to 1998). With Gold-Zack Wuppertal  , the wing and inside player won the German championship in the 1998/99 and 1999/2000 seasons. In 2000, she moved to Luleå Basket in Sweden , was in the 2001/02 season with the Spanish club PC Mendibil under contract and at the beginning of the 2002/03 season played three games for BPT Rovereto Basket (Italy).

Göttsche then returned to the United States and worked there for an equipment service provider.

National team

Between 1994 and 2002 she played 86 full international matches for Germany. She took part in the European championship tournaments in 1995 and 1997 (winning the bronze medal) and in the 1998 World Cup.
