Stefano Torrisi

Stefano Torrisi (born May 7, 1971 in Ravenna ) is a former Italian football player . The defender was an Italian international .

He started his career in 1987 at FC Modena in Serie C1 . 1990 Modena promotion to the Serie B . In 1991 he moved to fourth division club Ravenna Calcio , with whom he rose at the end of the season. 1993/94 he played with AC Reggiana in Serie A . The next year he was active at the league competitor FC Turin . In 1995 he went to the second division club FC Bologna , with whom he rose to Serie A. As a newcomer, Bologna finished seventh in 1997 and only missed out on participation in the UEFA Cup by one place . In 1998/99 he played for Atlético Madrid in the Spanish Primera División . In the UEFA Cup he reached the semi-finals with Atlético, where they were eliminated against the eventual winner of the tournament AC Parma .

Then he returned to Italy just to AC Parma. With Parma he won the Supercup by beating AC Milan 2-1 . In the UEFA Cup, the club lost to Werder Bremen in the round of 16 . With a fifth place in the championship they qualified again for the UEFA Cup 2000/01, where they were eliminated in the round of 16 only because of the away goals rule against PSV Eindhoven . In April 2001, Torrisi tested positive for nandrolone in a doping control and was banned for eight months. In the first half of 2002 he was loaned to Olympique Marseille , where he only had two missions, and then returned to Parma. In January 2003 he went to Reggina Calcio . In 2004 he moved to his old club FC Bologna, with whom he was relegated at the end of the season. In 2007 he ended his career.

Torrisi was appointed to the Italian national team once in 1997.
