Steffen Engelmohr (born August 5, 1941 ) was a football player in Dresden . For SG Dynamo Dresden , he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR football association .

After Engelmohr had started his football career as a young player with the small Dresden company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive Mitte, he played from 1960 with the first men's team of the BSG Lok Dresden in the then fourth-class district league Dresden . In his first year he won the district soccer cup with Lok Dresden. At the beginning of the second half of the 1962/63 football season, BSG Lok Engelmohr delegated to SG Dynamo Dresden, which was in acute danger of relegation as a newcomer to the GDR league and also had to replace the retired veterans Paul Fröhlich and Eberhard Fischer. The trained striker Engelmohr was mainly called up in his first games at Dynamo as a defender for Horst Wühn, who was not ready for action. By the end of the season, Engelmohr was used nine times in the major league. Dynamo Dresden could not secure relegation, and so Engelmohr played 1963/64 in the second-rate GDR league . After the immediate return to the league, Engelmohr was mainly used as an attacker in the left inner position in 1964/65. Although he was only able to play 16 games due to an injury, he was the second best scorer in his team with six goals. Even in 1965/66 he was not fully used and played only 14 of 26 Bundesliga point games. At the beginning of the 1966/67 season Engelmohr was ordered back into midfield and played his most league games with 21 appearances in this season. After he was called up only four times in league games in 1967/68, he left Dynamo Dresden at the end of the season. In his six Dynamo years, he completed 63 league games in which he scored twelve goals.

At the beginning of the 1968/69 season, Engelmohr moved to local rivals FSV Lok Dresden . Despite the similarity of the name, this had nothing to do with Engelmohr's former BSG Lok community and played in the GDR league. Engelmohr played for FSV Lok until 1973, after which he ended his career as a competitive athlete.
