Steffen Lorenz (born June 26, 1931 in Berlin ) is a German manager and IHK chairman.

Career

Until April 1992, Lorenz was a board member of the Gilde Brewery Group for over 25 years and then moved to the company's supervisory board.

In 1986 he was elected as the successor to Gerhard Nienaber , who headed the association for twelve years, as chairman of the Association of Breweries of Lower Saxony eV.

Since 1992 he has been President of the Hanover-Hildesheim Chamber of Commerce and Industry . He was the successor to Gerhard Barner , who was President from 1983 to 1988 and from February 1990. In 1996 and 1997 he was chairman of the Association of Lower Saxony Chambers of Commerce and Industry. His successor in this office was Klaus Schuberth , President of the Braunschweig Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

From 1993 to 1995, Lorenz was a representative of the manufacturing industry and participated in the so-called energy consensus talks under the Federal Government of Helmut Kohl .
