Gerhard Nienaber

Gerhard Nienaber (born October 6, 1926 in Gadderbaum ; † March 5, 2013 ) was a German brewery manager.

Life

Nienaber studied economics and completed his studies with a degree in business administration. He received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. From 1952 to 1964 he worked for the trust and auditing company in Hamburg . In 1957 he was appointed auditor . From 1970 he was a board member and later chairman of the board of Brauergilde AG and Gilde Brauerei AG in Hanover.

From 1974 to 1986 he was chairman of the Association of Breweries of Lower Saxony eV His successor was Steffen Lorenz .

In 2002, as CEO and shareholder, together with the chairman of the supervisory board, Steffen Lorenz, he sold the Gilde brewery to the Belgian company Interbrew . The city of Hanover, which held a 10% stake in the shares, could not prevent the sale. In December 2002 the general meeting approved the sale.

From 1974 to 1997 Nienaber was a member of the supervisory board of VGH Insurance . Nienaber was a member of the board of directors of the Freundeskreis der Leibniz Universität Hannover eV and a member of the board of trustees of the International Neurobionics Foundation founded in 1995 , which u. a. supports the International Neuroscience Institute in Hanover.

Nienaber had been married since 1963. Together with his wife, he founded the Drs Gerhard and Ruth Nienaber Foundation , which supports raw material research in hops with 19,500 euros annually.
