Steffi Bade-Bräuning (born October 15, 1969 in Bremerhaven ) is a German conductor , arranger , music teacher and clarinetist .

biography

Bade-Bräuning studied school music and conducting at the Cologne University of Music . She has headed the Esslinger Liederkranz since 2012 and is the founder and artistic director of the nationwide only children's and youth baroque orchestra, Die Telemänner, in GEDOK Stuttgart . She has been leading the symphony orchestra at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences since 2009, the Pep Band since 2010 and the choir since 2011.

A stay abroad took her to Singapore from 1999 to 2003, where she headed the music department at the German School Singapore . She was the artistic director of the choir at the National University of Singapore Society (2001–2003) as well as the opera choir director at the Singapore Lyric Opera (production “Carmen” by Bizet) and volunteered as the church music director for the German congregation in Singapore. She was invited three times as a juror to the National Judging of Singapore Schools (Central Judging of Choirs Singapore). In 2015 the 10th children and youth charity festival "Hits for Kids" Esslingen takes place under her direction in Esslingen, which she initiated in 2005. So far, around 1100 children and young people have campaigned for a good cause with music, art and sport in this festival.

In addition, she carried out international projects with St. Margaret Singapore , Jenö Hubay Music School Budapest, Naples High School, Florida, USA, Turtle Bay Music School and St. Peter's Church, New York City.

Bade-Bräuning has been working as a music teacher and orchestra director at the Schelztor-Gymnasium in Esslingen aN since 2009.

Repertoire and reception

One focus of her work is the performance of baroque music with young musicians for young people. Contemporary music is also a focus, with premieres by composers such as Ilana Schapira, Peter Toth and Felix Romankiewicz. CD recordings were made with works by Ney Rosauro with the university orchestra and the children's opera “Adventures in the Middle Ages” by Friedrich Radermacher.

Special appearances

As the choir director of the Singapore Lyric Opera , she performed at the Singapore Esplanade in 2002 . In 1993 she was invited to participate in the Philharmonic Night as a young conductor in the Cologne Philharmonic .

The children's and youth baroque orchestra Die Telemänner performed in its own concert at the Stuttgart Music Festival in 2011 and was invited to Ludwigsburg Palace in 2012, 2013 and 2014 . In January 2012, the orchestra went on a concert tour to New York under her leadership. In 2013 the orchestra could be heard in the castles of Schwetzingen and Ludwigsburg, and other concerts, including the celebrations of 250 years of Solitude Stuttgart, are planned. In 2014 the orchestra could be heard in Ludwigsburg Palace and Solitude Palace.

Am Schloss experience day, June 15, 2014 who portrayed Southwest Broadcasting (SWR), the event mode of Classicism and Empire - Fashion a la Greque with the Costume Academy Ludwigsburg and the Tele men in Ludwigsburg in the National Show. Eva Schneider-Gärtner was in charge of the costume academy, and Bade-Bräuning directed the orchestra.

In November 2014, Bade-Bräuning performed with the Telemen on a concert tour to Finland at the Concerto Grosso event at Musiikkitalo Helsinki.
