The Steinbach is a 5.3 km long, left tributary of the Helme in the district of Nordhausen , in the Free State of Thuringia , in Germany.

The small flowing water has its source northwest of Liebenrode . In Liebenrode it is dammed into a small pond. The Steinbach flows partly in a southern direction and partly in a northerly direction. It still touches a few sinkholes northeast of Liebenrode. After crossing under the B243 , it flows into the Helme west of Günzerode .
