Location and surroundings

The highest point of the hilltop is right on the old path from Oelsa to Wilmsdorf at a bench with a pile of stones. To the south lies the Menzerschlucht, to the north the Geßliche.

history

The name of the hilltop is mentioned for the first time on the Berlin miles sheets around 1800, on later measuring table sheets a small quarry or a stone ridge is marked here.

The "Kleine Straße" runs right past Possendorf to Frauenstein and Freiberg, today it is called "Wilmsdorfer Straße" and is no longer a street. In the 20th century, the hilltop served as a surveying point and was given as 266.6 m above sea level, today's altitude is based on GPS measurements.
