The stone box of Ballymaclare is located in the townland of Ballymaclare ( Irish Baile Mharclaí ) in the northeast of the Slieve Coiltia ( Sliabh Coiltir ) not far from the R734 road, in the south of the town of New Ross in the otherwise resource-poor, megalithic County Wexford in Ireland .

The north-east-south-west oriented stone box consists of an approximately rectangular chamber of about 2.0 m × 1.0 m and is covered by a green stone slab that is about 3.3 m long, 1.2 m wide and 0.3 m thick . The capstone is supported by five supporting stones that form the chamber walls. Two flat slabs form the paved floor. In 1938, when the nearby school at Aclare was built, stones were removed from the pile of stones that covered the box. The stone mound that housed the box was surrounded by a ring-shaped ditch about 10 m in diameter.

Inside, two complete, meanwhile lost vessels were found, one of which contained a human skull and the other of corpse burns.
