Wormsleben stone circle

The stone circle of Wormsleben was a prehistoric stone circle near Wormsleben , a district of the municipality of Seegebiet Mansfelder Land in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz , Saxony-Anhalt . It was probably destroyed in the first half of the 19th century.

The stone circle was between Wormsleben and Neehausen .

According to Christian Keferstein , the stone circle was no longer preserved in the 1840s. It consisted of vertical sandstone pillars . No information is available about the dimensions of the circle and the individual stones.

Finds from the area around the stone circle come from the Bandkeramische Kultur , the Walternienburg culture , the Full Bronze Age , the Latène Age , the Migration Period , the Slavic Early Middle Ages and the Middle Ages .
