The stone cross near Hagsbronn is a historic land monument near Hagsbronn , a district of the Middle Franconian town of Spalt in the Roth district in Bavaria .

description

Back of the stone cross

The small stone cross is about 100 meters southeast of Hagsbronn. It is there to the east of a roundabout on the district roads RH13 and RH18. The cross is in the company of a small path chapel. The small monument has sunk almost to the crossbeam, is made of sandstone and is moderately weathered. It has the dimensions 50 × 50 × 20 cm. The left arm is shortened and the right arm shows tees. A cross is incised on the front above the intersection.

It is probably an atonement cross . It is not known exactly when and why it was installed. The installation was certainly made long before the chapel was built in the 19th century. It is possible that it was only moved to this location later. Nothing is known about the history and pending sagas.

Lady Chapel

Chapel with the stone cross

The small path chapel is locally called the Lady Chapel . It is a sandstone block construction with a gable roof and a gable cross . At the front, the interior is closed with a lattice gate. The chapel, which dates back to the 19th century, has been designated as a historical building by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments (D-5-76-147-224).
