The stele of the actor Aristion from Troizen is a simple marble grave stele in the ancient Athenian cemetery Kerameikos .

The stele for Aristion was found in the Kerameikos in 2002, but not in the place where it was probably originally placed. It is very likely that the tomb, like other tombs for actors and poets, such as Makareus , Euthias and Hieronymos , stood on the so-called corner terrace south of Necropolis Street.

The stele was simply profiled. It was not decorated with a relief, as is known from many other grave stelae, but a painted red-brown theater mask , of which residues have still been preserved. The mask shows a stage actor, Suitable is an inscription , a six-line epigram obtained that Aristion origin calls from Troizen, his father Aristaios, and his profession as a comedy actor. In addition, that he was his father's third child and died at the age of 40 before his brother and sister. Since he had no descendants of his own, his siblings had his tomb built. The stele is made around the year 265 BC. Dated.
