Stenhögen ( German  Steinhügel ; RAÄ-Nr. Kävlinge 1: 1) is one of only three double- aisle graves ( Swedish Dubbelgånggrifter ) in Sweden northwest of Kävlinge , near the road "Karabyvägen" (104) to Dösjebro or Landskrona in Skåne . The passage grave was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) and is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems, which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands.

Many of the approximately 60 known double systems have common supporting stones on their adjacent narrow sides. More rarely, as in Stenhögen, are two chambers located independently of one another, but related to one another, in the same mound (also passage graves from Snæbum ).

description

The facility, oriented in a west-east direction, is located in a plowed 0.7 m high hill of about 13 m × 10 m, which no longer has curbs.

The western rectangular chamber with rounded corners measures approximately 3.75 m × 2.5 m and consists of 7 preserved bearing stones. The top and gangue stones are missing.

About 0.5 m to the east is the almost rectangular eastern chamber of about 3.0 m × 2.0 m, consisting of 8 preserved bearing stones. The south-facing, about 0.75 m wide corridor consists of 2 preserved supporting stones. To the west are shifted stones that may have belonged to both courses. The capstones of the chamber and passage are also missing here.

The double-aisle grave was examined by F. Hansen in 1919. The finds consist of a heart-shaped arrowhead , some skeletal remains and slate and flint pendants .

In Skåne there are two other dubbelgånggrifter ( Snarring and Stora Kungsdösen ).
