Stenophylla coffee ( Coffea stenophylla ) is a type of plant from the genus coffee ( Coffea ). The plants reach heights of up to 3 m and grow as shrubs or trees . The species is endemic to the foothills of Guinea , Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast , but was also introduced to Ghana and Nigeria and some non-African areas and is cultivated there. Within the genus Coffea , the species is classified in the sub- section Melanocoffea of the section Eucoffea within the sub-genus Coffea . The number of chromosomes is 2n = 22.

The taste of stenophylla coffee is considered to be mild.
