Stephan-Götz Richter

Stephan-Götz Richter , also Stephan Richter (* 1959 ) is a German journalist who lived in Washington for many years and is considered an expert on the USA .

Life

Stephan (-Götz) Richter studied at the University of Bonn and was between 1986 and 1987 "Congressional Fellow of the American Political Science Association".

He was the US correspondent for Rheinischer Merkur from 1990 to 1998.

At the beginning of the nineties he worked with the consulting firm Trans-Atlantic Futures as North American advisor to the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Vice Chancellor.

In 1992 he published his book Clinton: What America and Europe Expects .

In 2013 he was co-editor of the book In Search of a Sustainable Future: Reflections on Economic Growth, Social Equity and Global Governance .

Richter wrote for English , French and German-language newspapers and magazines, was seen and heard on US television and radio programs and German television, moderated political events and gave lectures on geopolitical and geo-economic topics. He has been a frequent guest at the ARD press club and the Phoenix Runde in recent years.

As of 2017

Stephan (-Götz) Richter is the publisher and editor-in-chief of The Globalist , a daily online magazine about global economy , politics and culture, which he founded in January 2000.

He recently moved from Washington to Berlin.
