Stephan Hinrich Behncke

Stephan Hinrich Behncke (born January 11, 1747 , † September 23, 1824 in Lübeck ) was mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Behncke was the oldest of the Lübeck mountain drivers and as such was elected councilor in 1797. During the French period in Lübeck in 1810 he was President of the Finance Commission and in 1811 became a municipal councilor . From 1813 he was a member of the council again and in 1818 became mayor.

From 1793–1819 he was the owner of Fischstrasse 7–9 and owner of a manufactured goods store at Mengstrasse 2.
