Stephen D. Lambert

Stephen D. Lambert (* 1960 ) is an ancient historian and epigraphist at Cardiff University .

In 1986 he was at the University of Oxford to Dr. Phil . PhD . His dissertation was entitled The Ionian Phyle and Phratry in Archaic and Classical Athens . He worked at the University of Liverpool from 1999 to 2004 and has been with Cardiff University since 2005. There he was appointed Professor of Ancient Greek History and Epigraphy in 2018. From 2007 to 2012 he was a visiting fellow at the University of Utrecht , from 2012 to 2013 he stayed at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton (New Jersey) .

Lambert has published numerous publications on the history and epigraphy of the city of Athens and is the founder and editor of the Attic Inscriptions Online project , an online database of the ancient inscriptions of Attica in English translations.
