Stephen Liddle

Stephen Taylor Liddle (born in Sunderland in north-east England ) is a British chemist and professor at the University of Manchester . His specialty is inorganic chemistry , and he is also Vice Director at the Research Center for Radiochemistry .

Career

Liddle received his B.Sc. in 1997 and PhD in 2000 from Newcastle University . This was followed by postdoctoral fellowships at various universities before he was appointed as a temporary lecturer at the University of Nottingham in 2007 .

In 2013 he was given his own chair, after having previously worked as an associate professor and lecturer in 2010 . In 2015 he was offered the chair in Manchester, which he has held to date.

In 2012, Liddle was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and has been Vice President of the Executive Committee of the European Rare Earth and Actinide Society since 2012 . In addition to other activities, he was part of the team of Periodic Table of Videos , which was awarded the IChemE Petronas award for excellence in education and training in 2008 .

Liddle has received numerous awards for his research.
