Stephen Oppenheimer
Stephen Oppenheimer (* 1947 ) is a British doctor, a member of Green College at Oxford and an honorary professor at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine . More recently he has published a number of books on early human history.
From 1972 Oppenheimer worked as a clinical pediatrician in Malaysia , Nepal and Papua New Guinea . Since 1979 he has moved into research and teaching at institutions such as the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine , Oxford University , a research center in Kilifi, Kenya and the University Sains Malaysia . From 1990 to 1994 he was a Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Hong Kong .
In 1996 he returned to England and began a second career as a researcher and author of popular scientific writings on early human history. In his books he synthesizes human genetics , archeology , anthropology , linguistics and folklore .
