The Star Car GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of LSH Auto International Ltd. based in Leipzig, Saxony . The company operates 18 sales branches for motor vehicles of Daimler AG in the eastern German federal states , making it temporarily the largest Mercedes-Benz dealer in Germany .
The entry into the East German market took place in the second quarter of 2015 through the takeover of Russ & Janot GmbH in Erfurt , with branches in Weimar and Arnstadt , which were up for sale in the course of a restructuring of the Daimler AG branches in 2014. With the takeover of another 15 branches in 2015, Stern Auto GmbH expanded to become the largest Mercedes-Benz dealer in Germany. The company now has around 1700 employees at its 22 locations.
